My Struggle With Consistency: Me Vs Myself
Being consistent is the most difficult task in my life. I am steady… but I am not able to maintain that consistency even for 6 months.
I know this doesn’t happen only with me, it must be happening with everyone, right?
But my problem with consistency is a little different… I become so regular for 1 month or 2 months sometimes that I myself don’t even realize if it’s really me. But suddenly that discipline disappears for 1–2 months. And then again I start following consistency, but still I am not able to bring back that same discipline like before.
This always happens to me.
But if I or all of us could understand why this actually happens, then maybe this problem could be solved.
Why I Struggle to Stay Consistent.
Because this idea worked for me.
The problem was that I am consistent, but I am not able to maintain that consistency for a long time properly.
And why was this happening? Because I don’t really have a strong phone addiction, but even a little daily phone usage slowly kept increasing without me noticing, and I kept getting distracted.
So it was simple — I found my problem. Even a small amount of daily phone use was distracting me.

Now the problem was in front of me, I just needed a solution for it.
And for our generation, it becomes really hard to stay away from phones, right?
Even I didn’t use my phone that much anyway.
And on the internet, there are thousands of solutions and tips to keep the phone away—but most of them don’t really work for us, right? They just don’t suit us.
So it felt best to try something own, something that actually suits us, something we create ourselves and feel comfortable following.
I Know My Problem, Now What’s the Solution?
So first of all, I did—
• I made a simple rule: no phone for 1 hour after waking up in the morning and no phone 1 hour before sleeping at night, which was easy to follow because it was very simple.
• After that, I also stopped using my phone while eating, which I used to do regularly.
And after following just these two small and simple rules, using the phone no longer felt important to me. Now I only use my phone for about half an hour to one hour a day, apart from work purposes.
And this probably happens with everyone, right? The only difference is that everyone has different distractions.
So you can also try the same kind of solutions I tried. Since my distraction was my phone, I applied these rules to my phone usage. And you just need to apply it to whatever habit or thing is distracting you.
Who knows, maybe your problem might also get solved just like mine.
