Girls can drive...but can boys cook?

Are Men Truly Independent? A Question Society Rarely Asks

These days, I’ve noticed something that
society really needs to pay attention to.

My brother was very hungry, and my
grandmother was still cooking. But he was
too impatient to wait. Seeing this, my
grandmother jokingly said, ‘If you’re so
hungry, make the food yourself….but you
probably don’t know how to cook.’ Then
she added with a smile, ‘So sit quietly.
When you get married, you can ask your
wife to cook quickly for you’.

That small moment made me realize
something.

Women Are Becoming Independent… But Are Men
Really Independent?

“Girls have become independent, and we
are still moving towards more
independence. But are boys truly becoming
self-sufficient the way we are?”

And the answer my mind gave was – not at
all. Boys are still not truly on their own

Girls today earn money, but we also know
how to cook. We know how to go to the
market, buy vegetables, and turn them into
a meal.

From earning money to making our own
food, we can do almost everything
ourselves. In many ways, we are moving
toward becoming completely independent
and self-reliant.

But what about boys? Most of them only
know how to earn money, not how to cook.
so can they really be called fully
independent?

At least in this aspect, the percentage of
boys who are truly self-reliant is probably
much lower than that of girls.

For food, they are completely dependent
on their mother, grandmother, wife or sister
it seems that our society – never really
taught them how to be self-sufficient.

Girls are often curious to learn everything –
riding a bike, driving a car, and becoming
self-reliant in every way.
Then why don’t boys feel the curiosity to
cook their own food?

If a housewife is dependent on her husband
and not self-reliant, then her husband is
also reliant on his wife when it comes
to food.
So how is he considered Autonomous?

I don’t know the answers to the questions
rising in my mind…and I don’t even want to
know.

But one thing is clear: in today’s society,
women have become completely
self-reliant, while men are still not truly
self-sufficient.

Till today, I have always seen men
depending on a woman for food.
And many men even get married just so
they can have a ready-made cook,
don’t they?

Because in India, 80% of mothers haven’t
even taught their sons how to make tea.

It’s true that some people are changing
these days, but their numbers are still very
very very small.

What I mean is, if cooking is a basic survival
skill, then both boys and girls should know
it, not just girls.

Is there any man in your home or around
you who earns money and also knows how
to cook?
If yes, then they definitely deserve
appreciation.
