Are Indian Housewives the Most Underestimated women?
I don’t think there could be anyone greater than Indian housewives. I mean they are like superwomen.
You know why I specifically said Indian housewives. Because in many countries, women either have full equal rights, or in some countries, they have no rights at all.
Some countries are so open-minded that women and men handle both home responsibilities and work outside. In some countries, women stay at home only and don’t have any freedom at all. But India…Indians are a bit different. Here, men work, women work, both earn money –
But it comes to household chores, it’s mostly the women who take care everything. They manage the home and everything outside it.
That’s why I said, Indian housewives are superwomen.
Now some people might say, ” Some women are just housewives and don’t work outside….”But even if they don’t work outside, they still do all the work at home.”
How do I explain this?
Housewives sometimes become nurses, sometimes doctors, sometimes the manager of the entire house. Outside most people work a 9-to-6 job right? But housewives work 24 hours a day. So how can they just be called ” just housewives”.
And let me tell you one more thing – if housewives stop working even for a single day, the entire house would fall apart in just a day. In short, no one can multitask better than housewives.
How Indian Housewives Become Superwomen
My mom…she never looks tired, and she never seems to fall sick. But that doesn’t mean she actually doesn’t get tired or sick.
Of course she does. she gets exhausted and she falls ill sometimes too. She just never lets the family see it…because she knows that if she sits down even for a day, the whole house would struggle to survive.
And it’s not just my mom, almost every mother is like this. We have probably never seen our mothers lying in bed because of illness….have we?
Sometimes I don’t understand whether this is something to be proud of…or something to be sad about – that Indian housewives are called superwomen.
Because the truth is, most of them never wanted to become superwomen. They just became one because that’s what society expected from them.

We turned housewives into ‘goddesses’ who
do everything…who never get tired…who
never say no to any work.
But the real question is – do they actually
want to be superwomen, or are we the ones
forcing them to become one?
Housewives: An Inspiration We Often
Overlook
We all have role models, right? People we look up to…people who inspire us and motivate us to do better.
I have role models too.
But there is one woman who has always given me the strength to keep working hard, no matter what. A woman who probably never even realized she was inspiring someone.
And that woman is the Indian housewife – My Mother.
Whenever I start drifting away from my goals… when I feel too tired to stay disciplined… when I start making excuses and tell myself, It’s okay, let’s just take a day off from hard work.
In those moments, I look at the housewife right in front of me – my mom. I observe her.
I see how much she works the entire day… without getting tired, without stopping, without resting, without even lying down for a while. She never makes excuses.
And every single time I watch her, I feel recharged again.
Whenever I start feeling lazy or begin to lose my discipline, I see my mom working so hard that it motivates me to get back to my work and start putting in effort again.
What do you think about this?
