Comfort food

Why Comfort Food Feels Like Home.

While writing today’s article, I thought a lot about what to write, but nothing good came to mind.

So I decided to write about the one thing that had been on my mind since morning.

And that thought was about homemade comfort food the kind of food we can’t find anywhere except at home.

You know, when we live away from home – whether in a hostel or because of work – we miss home a lot. we miss home, of course…but sometimes, we miss home-cooked food even more.

No matter how hard we try, we can never find food like home outside. And even if we try to cook it ourselves, it never tastes the same.

And that’s when we start missing Dadi’s ( Grandma ) or Mumma’s food.

No Restaurant, Just Ghar ka Khana

As for me, I have just one comfort food that I can eat every single day – something I can never say no to. My ultimate comfort food is varan bhat ( Traditional Maharashtrian dal and rice)

The dish from home I miss the most is varan bhat. And when it’s served with batti ( batti is traditional Maharashtrian bread, usually served with varan bhat ), the day feels complete.

This is one dish I can eat anytime, anywhere. I really love it – but only when it’s made by my mumma or grandma. It’s special to me.

I mean. even if someone else makes this dish, I still eat it and enjoy it a lot. But ever since childhood, I’ve been so used to eating varan bhat made by my mumma or grandma that their varan bhat batti just feels extra special.

After reading this article, I hope it reminded you of that one dish that’s just as special to you too.

You must have a comfort food like this too, right? It might be a very simple dish, but you probably miss it a lot.
