The Woman’s Voice

I saw something unusual yesterday, a bright
10th pass girl, she had one goal in life . to be a Doctor .
and she came from a family that was financially secure.

The Woman’s Voice: Feelings We
Were Never Taught to Say

To become a doctor , she’ll have to go out of her town
of course for her classes.
But but but…her family doesn’t want her to stay outside the ,
house or go out of the town .

You know it’s not really okay for girls to stay out……
if something goes wrong , what will happen to the family’s respect
and all that nonsense , i mean seriously !

she really wanted to become an independent woman , but
her family is not allowing her to live or study outside the town.

The unheard voice of the woman

That girl thought , Hmm maybe I should tell this
problem to my elder brother
( point to be noted ) , her elder brother post-graduate,
a well educated guy .

Education can give degrees, not always
wisdom.

Her educated brother said with authority, Why go out?
All knowledge will come to you at home only !
No need to step outside for studies.

It’s not that she wanted to stay in a hostel , No ….
she just wanted to stay with her aunt who lives in
city and study there,
Because the studies she can do in the city, are
just not possible in the town.

I mean , look at today’s developing world –
her educated brother , who himself stay in the city
to study ,tells her , You can’t go out and study !
( Is he really an educated person )

That girl kept crying and saying , trust me , please
let me go out and attend my classes. let me become
a doctor, I wont do anything wrong that would hurt
you all .
Trust me , I just want to study and build my career,
after that, you can do whatever you want .
But her voice full of pain and hops , was unheard by
her family members.

Her voice is strong, her words are clear,
yet no one hears her.

And just like that , her voice was completely ignored.
so now what- will they just make her finish her 11th and
12th grade frome nearby college ,then graduation frome
the same place , and
finally marry her to some well-educated, employed man
right?

And now ,her dream will probably remain just a dream.

whenever I share this story, people just shrug
and say , “That’s nothing new , it happens to everyone.
if she’s really fond of making a career ,then she should fight for it.

Maybe it’s true .

But ya, this doesn’t happen with everyone man ,
It only happens to girls, so…..yeah, it’s not really normal |

Perhaps feminism hasn’t fully arrived yet .
