There’s one thing I’ve noticed around me
again and again – maybe you’ve noticed it as
well.
When a girl dreams of studying more or
becoming something in life, her family
often thinks she must become either a doctor
or an engineer. Only then is she permitted
to study away from home; otherwise, she is
not.
If she wants to become something else – like
a teacher, an artist or prepare for
competitive exams – she’s often told she can
do all that from home. Why is there any
need to go outside? This is something girls
are told all the time.
Yes, she can do all of that while
staying at home – but if she
wants to go out and study, what
is wrong with that?
By stepping out, she will learn to solve
her own problems, become more
mature, and discover many
opportunities. She will understand life
more deeply,
learn the difference between right and
wrong.
And learn how to be independent.
Isn’t that reason enough for her to study
outside?
Isn’t all of this also a kind of learning? In
fact, life outside can teach her far more than
classroom or college studies ever could.
Isn’t that enough?
Still, they come up with another excuse every
time – her safety.
Teach her how to protect herself.
If you really want her to be independent, Why
are are you so scared of her freedom?
You want her to study and become
independent, but you’re still scared of giving
her even a small amount of freedom.
Yes, maybe this doesn’t happen everywhere,
but in most places, it still does.
