I never really felt self-doubt. I used to think
it was something people just talked about,
so I never paid much attention to it. Even on
social media, I always ignored reels about
self-doubt.
I kept telling myself, first learn how to work hard
properly. learn how to truly learn. only then will
topics like self-doubt make sense to me.
Let me give my 100% first.
Because honestly, I had never put my heart and
soul into anything with such intensity
That I could even understand what self-doubt
really meant.
I used to believe that self-doubt only appears when
you give your 100% , when you work extremely hard,
while chasing your goals.
I thought people experience self-doubt only when
they are running towards their dreams.
But no, that’s not how it works. Self-doubt isn’t limited
to chasing dreams – it shows up in daily life as well.
It’s like doing the same task a hundred times before,
yet in one moment suddenly feeling “Oh my God….
this is too difficult. I can’t do it.
And then the very next day, doing that same task
without overthinking it, and everything goes smoothly.
But on another day, when you do that same activity
with too much thinking, fear, or pressure, it just
doesn’t happen.
A task I’ve been doing for so long –
suddenly, while doing that very task, my confidence
drops badly and everything starts to fall apart.
I think this can be called momentary self-doubt.
Or fear while doing that task could also be a reason
for it.
Or having a doubt in your mind, like “I can’t do this,”
and all that.
Anyway, all this happens in everyone’s life. But I
read a really good line once, and now,
whenever I feel afraid of something, I repeat that
line in my mind.
Of course, it doesn’t solve the problem, but it gives
me the strength to endure it, and the courage to face it.
Repeating that line makes me feel strong, like I can do
this.
And that line is:
Be the heroine of your life, not the victim.
Have you ever read a line somewhere that stayed with
you forever?
Or a line that you remembered whenever you were
stuck in confusion or inner conflict?
You know, in situations like mine – whenever I feel
scared, I remember my favorite line:
Be the heroine of your life, not the victim. It reminds
me of a story that perfectly matches my situation, and
maybe something like this has happened to you too.
How One Lesson Helped Him:
Never Face Self-doubt
This is a story about a great sage, a holy man who
was a devoted follower of Gautama Buddha and
believed in him deeply.
There was also a small child who lovingly served
the sage every day.
One day, while the child was cleaning the place, a
statue of Gautama Buddha slipped from his hands
and broke.
The child became frightened, thinking that when the
sage arrived, he would surely scold him.
As soon as the sage entered the room, the child asked
hime a question.
He asked,”Baba, why do people die?
The sage replied, “Because their time comes.”
Then the child said, “Baba, that was your statue of
Gautama Buddha, wasn’t it? Maybe it’s time had come too.
Then the sage began to laugh loudly and said to the
child, ” Always remember this.”
That small line settled deeply in the child’s heart and
stayed with him forever.
From then on, whenever someone left his life or moved
away from him, he would say,
“Perhaps their time had come.”
Whenever a loved one went away from him, he would say,
their time must have come.”
And because of this, peace always remained in his life,
he had never became truly sad.
Have you ever heard or read a line that you have never
forgotten and keep remembering during difficult times?
If yes, then please do share it with us – I’d love to read it.
