For us Indians, a wedding feels like a festival.
We celebrate weddings just the way we celebrate Diwali,
isn’t it?
Starting shopping 2-3 months in advance…doing all
the small rituals and programs 15 days before…
spending time with all the cousins and relatives – It’s all just
pure fun, right?
One thing is true – in India, a wedding isn’t just between
two people, it’s between two families. All our relatives become
a part of the celebration…and this bond is celebrated with
even more energy and unity than a festival.
These days I’ve noticed one thing about weddings –
the difference between city weddings and village weddings.

In city weddings, everything is done by paying professionals
like wedding planners, costume planners, caterers and all of that.
We just have to show up and attend the wedding…
and honestly, I enjoy those weddings a lot too. But ……..
But village weddings are a whole different vibes…Sometimes,
even people who live in the city prefer to have their weddings
in their own village or hometown.
Relatives start gathering together about 15 days before
the wedding… everyone shares the preparations among themselves.
And the women from the neighborhood come together to
sing traditional weddings songs. These songs and gatherings
feel like a ritual in themeselves.
All the women of the village come together and celebrate the
small pre-wedding rituals with so much joy.
In villages, weddings aren’t held in tiny halls but in large, beautifully
decorated mandaps.

Durings this two-day celebration, the villagers themselves help
serve food to everyone and support the caterers in every
possible way. And in many village weddings, food isn’t served on
plates but on banana leaves -keeping the tradition alive in the most
beautiful way.
The whole village becomes a part of the wedding celebration…
A village wedding truly feels like a village wedding – a kind of
celebration you won’t find anywhere else.
Villages weddings are simple, sobar and unforgettable….it’s really
amazing, yaar.
Have you guys ever experienced a village wedding? What was
your experience like?
Personally, I liked the village wedding even more than any
destination wedding.
Everything happens at a village wedding, it’s just all in it’s own
unique style.
